Sensei Kyle Barnes
Ous! My name is Kyle Barnes and I started Taking Karate in 1995. In September of 1999, after a lot of time spent training and physical duress, I received my first Black belt. While looking back at time, I try to locate in my memory one hard time that I had overcome, but I can’t think of one in particular. It seems to me that from start to the present there hasn't been an easy time in Karate as nothing worthy in life is obtained easily, but let’s say that I had “different” moments.
Becoming a Martial Artist has impacted my life in many different ways, but especially in giving me a better understanding of people in general. And because relationships play an important role in my life, the School of the Tiger has become very dear to me. Here at the School of Tiger, we are all part of each other, like a big family. I also have learned that teaching others and been a positive influence in their lives is an amazing gift, and having this in mind, I try to do my best every day.
When I am not teaching at the School of the Tiger, I work in the Food Services Department t the Elk Grove High School, job that I hold since 1989. Yes, I agree… It has being a long time… And since life is not only about working, in my spare time I train Martial Arts, read, listen to music and play in my computer.
If you ask me for a word of wisdom, I would say: “Do your best, become the very best you can possibly be in anything you put your heart onto.” Ous
