Mr. Javier
I am Javier Alvarado aka (Mr. Javier), a Junior Black Belt here at The School of the Tiger. I am 14 years old, but started Karate when I was still in the Second Grade. Karate has given me the chance to do many things that I would have never done on my own as well as meet new people. I have acquired self-confidence, patience, and determination through the martial arts. Teaching others is great because I get to share all of the knowledge that I have gathered as a martial artist, although it is sometimes tough. I'm one of the younger ones and feel that I still have a lot to learn from the older "tigers." Also, as a Martial Artist, I am always looking for ways to improve myself. I would say that I am undergoing my hardest training now because I have started training for full contact. I have two great parents, an older brother who is also in karate (Mr. Alvarado), and two dogs. After high school, I'd like to attend college and study engineering, as well as continue with a martial arts career. I am a left handed who likes skateboard, play guitar, draw, and read. For you who is just starting, know that Karate takes a lot of hard work, but it is worth it in the end.
