Sensei Bea

Ous! My name is Maria E. Molina-Quint, AKA Ms. Bea Quint. I am an ER Nurse, and I am currently a 1st Dan Black Belt. I have been with the School of the Tiger under Shihan Jack Raderchak since 1999.

I joined Martial Arts because I have always showed an interest in the art of Karate, and with the support and encouragement of my fellow students and family, I obtained my Black Belt in February of 2005. I enjoy going to the School of the Tiger because of the wholesome family atmosphere it offers. Being in Karate was the best thing I have ever decided to do, aside from the fact that I get to do it with my family. My husband, Sensei Clay Quint, is a 2nd Dan Black belt. My children, Cody and Madison are both students of School of the Tiger. I gained friends here that I consider being part of my own family: "The Tiger's Family."

During the course of my training with the School of the Tiger, I have learned discipline and gained a lot of self-esteem. I have joined tournaments where I got to experience doing Kata and Kumite in front of other people and other schools. I earned a bronze and silver medals in Kata, and a Silver and gold in Kumite from different tournaments. It is an experience I encourage other students to do!

The hardest thing I've gone through while being in Karate was learning by itself. Every move has a reason. I remember throwing a punch and I felt like I was not doing it right. Sometimes I thought "I can't get this one right." Through the years, I have learned how to improve my stances, punches, kicks and I am still continuing to try my best to perfect the art.

Every time I wear my belt, I wear it with pride and dignity, which does not mean that I have achieved the highest belt yet. Just like any White Belt, I still have a lot of learning to do. It is just the beginning of my journey. Through this journey, I am taking my kids with me for they are part of the School of the Tiger.

As a member of "The Tiger Family", I am happy to share what I have learned, my thoughts, knowledge and experience to my fellow students. We will learn from each other. Set up a goal and aim for it. "YOU CAN DO IT!" Ous!
